League Meeting Results
I attended the League meeting last night and here are a couple things you may want to know:
- The B-South division will be divided into two separate divisions based on geographical regions. This means that there is now a B-Central, in which we are part of. The teams in our division will be:
- Burlington Canucks
- Burlington Predators (formerly known as Martinrea)
- Burlington Sharks
- Burlington Vipers
- Hamilton Oilers
- Toronto Titans
- Leo Lodder has left the league executive, replaced by Tim Lodder. Although it is still unknown who will be the new league president.
- Changes regarding suspensions:
- 4 minor penalties at any time during the game, results in removal from that game as well as the next game. This is a change from the previous rule where you only missed the next game if the 4th penalty was in the last 10 minutes.
- After a player accumulates 40 minutes of penalties, he will be suspended for two games. At 50 minutes, there will be an indefinite suspension.
- 4 minor penalties at any time during the game, results in removal from that game as well as the next game. This is a change from the previous rule where you only missed the next game if the 4th penalty was in the last 10 minutes.
- The schedule for the new season will be available on or around the 25th of September.

Why did they divide the division up?
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 12:52 PM
It kind of sucks that we won't be travelling to Smithvill etc. Playing the other teams was always a good time.
Playing the same teams all the time is a bit of a drag.
Did Tim get voted to the executive?
How will the playoffs work?

They divided the division up because there were 3 new teams this year, and they thought it was too many for one division. There were two other options:
1. Put us and the other new teams up in the North.
2. Make a C division.
I voted to make a C division, but basically the vote was decided by the Dunnville/Smithville teams because they didn't want to keep driving out to Burlington all the time.

Yes, Tim was voted in.

Playoffs will be in your own division. The top 4 teams make the playoffs. It is still undecided how an overall b playoff would be decided, or even if there will be one at all.

just means we get to kick your A alot more this season. I'm looking forward to it. go vipers. make sure your chin straps are on tight lads
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 2:01 PM
vipers will need all the help they can get...we may have a few extra pilons if you are still teaching a few guys how to skate.
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 2:49 PM
Vipers will be skating circles around you guys. Were Young guys and most of your guys are somewhat older and besides, we got a damn good keeper between the pipes. Have fun Trying to score more then 4 goals on this guy. I think Jack will admitt. he's a good goalie. alot more experienced then the Canucks goalie. We know the devision will be tough but we're up for the challenge and look forward to meeting you guys at centre ice. Game On Viper forever

Vipers, go ahead and keep fantasizing. You have guys on your team that are still in diapers. We’ll skate right through you, tossing players left, right, and center. Chris could probably play the whole game with his eyes closed, and we’d still score more goals against you in one game than you will in the entire season. If I were you I’d be pleading with Leo to make a C division.

Anyone seen the vipers site lately?... Mike Linde will keep his mouth shut sooner or later... then he can have his site back... haha.
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 4:39 PM
Friggin nice... That's some steller hacking!
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 4:41 PM
Okay Wade. You made your point on the Vipers website. Now can you please put it back to what it originally was? The team looks at that site for info and we don't have time for pricks like you going on our site rearranging it. thankyou. Mike

Can the Canucks join in on the practise? HAHA...
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 4:54 PM
Canucks don't need practice. They are way better than us.
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 4:57 PM
I think Mike is a little upset... I guess he will learn to keep his comments on his own site... I wonder if the Vipers will show up to their practise on Saturday... every time Mike will try to post a comment saying there is none... I'll just delete it.. hehe. Go Canucks... we won't only beat them on the ice..
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 4:59 PM
By the way Mike... it wasn't Wade.. he's in Peterboro right now... haha... I love computers... they're so much fun!!!
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 5:03 PM

any new "a" division teams?
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 7:04 PM
Hey Jack, why did you change your 4:38 pm post from "Jack said" to "anonymous"; and change "mike" to "vipers"?
Step up to the plate fella
By Anonymous, at 9/13/2006 7:08 PM
How come my name comes up as saying things... and I never been on here before?... This is wierd...
Cheers, Wade.

So...
Seeing as they are tightening up the rules regarding penalties... etc... are they going to count all 1st and 2nd period penalties as 3 min in the stats and 3rd period ones as 2 min? Just wondering.
By Anonymous, at 9/14/2006 9:17 AM
No. All minor penalties count as 2 minutes. You only serve 3 minutes to make up for the fact that the clock is running.

do we have a game on wed the 20th?
one other thing: guys leave the trash talk for the ice....
By Anonymous, at 9/14/2006 11:37 AM
We have the ice so there will be a game. I talked to the Oilers about showing up for a game, but they haven't confirmed yet. If they can't make it I'll invite another team.
By Jack, at 9/14/2006 12:13 PM
invite the vipers
By Anonymous, at 9/14/2006 3:20 PM
jack...gonna get back to me on the sponsorship question??
By Anonymous, at 9/14/2006 3:52 PM
done matt.
Also, speaking of sponserships, the coachman has agreed to sponsor us a significant amount of money if we promise to show up there after each game. I don't think this should be a problem, as we'd probably be there anyways. Cheers!
By Jack, at 9/14/2006 4:56 PM
trash talk is more fun on the internet
By Anonymous, at 9/14/2006 5:46 PM
what are thoughts on these lines:
james dan joel
mike jack ken
matt wade mark
just another possiblity that might work
By Anonymous, at 9/16/2006 9:32 AM
I think we can give those lines a try. I suggest that on Wedesday we try a bunch of different combinations.
By Jack, at 9/18/2006 8:42 AM
I got confirmation from the Oilers rep. They will be playing us. Wednesday, 10:00 @ Mainway. I will be handing out the Jerseys and socks at the game. Subs (Dave, Dan, and James) you are invited to play as well.
By Jack, at 9/18/2006 4:12 PM
Matt do you think making lines with Wade in them is a good idea. he will only be able to play every other game given the new penalty rules.
By Anonymous, at 9/18/2006 7:39 PM
I've just received word from the new arena that they will not have our rink ready for use until late October. They will be attempting to find us ice elsewhere for the first couple of games. They will let me know within the next week. I'll keep you all posted.
By Jack, at 9/19/2006 12:37 PM
Jack: can you post the dates of the first few games if you have them?
By Anonymous, at 9/25/2006 9:36 AM
The league's schedule is now on the main page. Keep in mind that our first few games will change due to the fact that our ice isn't ready yet. I'll try to have that information ASAP.
