Recap: 11/10/2006 Predators vs Canucks
The Canucks improved their record to 4-1 with an 8-2 victory over the Predators on Friday night. For the first time in the season the entire team showed up. This resulted in balanced scoring throughout the lines as Jack, Matt, Dan, Mike (2), Arie, Joel, and Wade all scored to put the game away early. The two goals against were due to overconfidence and a lack of overall defensive responsibility after an eight goal cushion was built up. Hopefully we’ll learn from it and give Chris a chance to post a few more shut-outs.
After five games, the team scoring race is tightening up. Six players are within four points of taking over Wade for the lead. It will be interesting to see if we can continue to have such a balanced attack. Having a high number of players that can put the puck in the net is a big advantage. The eight goals we scored last night (along with 23 others this year) proved we have what it takes offensively to compete, but we need to get committed defensively if we want to take over first place.
We now head into a home-and-home against the Oilers. We are eagerly anticipating this mini-series against a decent hockey team. Hopefully it will give us a chance to really find out if we have what it takes to kick ass in this league. Next week’s game is 9:00 at Olympic Arena in Dundas. Go Nucks!

okay well to start off i will agree with u boys saying u are good and you did deserve the win but come on... i quote "two goals against were due to overconfidence and a lack of overall defensive responsibility" thats a load you guys just can't admit that a group of "kindergarteners" could score on the high and mighty burlington canucks... for sections at a time we were playing you guy evenly and other times we did still fall apart but for a bunch of "kindergarteners" half your age and size we played decent...by the end of the year i promise it will be alot closer than 9-0 and 8-2...
looking forward to playing you again..l8r

Wow - Predators are reading our site?
I got to admit, you Predators did play better than expected last night. You've definitely improved since the last time we played you. You’re still quite a ways away from being able to beat us, but I should hope so considering your average age and size. Yes - we are embarrassed that you scored on us twice, but we’ll be thinking of excuses regardless of who scores on us. It’s either that or admit that we did something wrong, which is not the cocky Canuck way. Thanks for checking our site out. See you again on the 15th.

didn't know predators could read yet????

keep it up predators...we want the games to be close. (even if we don't think anyone should score on us)

I came , I watched, I was impressed. I was glad to see a good clean hockey game.Great coaching Ben.
Keep it up guys, have some fun, cause soon those kindergartners might be skating circles around you guys. :)

Hear Hear, I agree, keep up the cocky stuff while you can boys, because in six months, you guys won't be able to keep up with them

What was the result of the congregational meeting friday night?
By Anonymous, at 11/11/2006 5:51 PM
Hey Vito. I think I've figured out your secret identity. How much are you going to pay me to keep it quiet? Here's a bit of proof of my discovery - Shouldn't you be from Cambridge instead of Woodbridge?

Jack, since you probably can't get your work email till monday, I'm just letting you know that the new video is ready to go. You can get it from youtube as usual.

Good job on friday guys i think part of the problem with our goals against is we played according to the skill of the competition, when we should have just kept the pressure on like we are capable of and made it to double digits...on the 15th no problem we will be there. The defensive core will pull it together next game and it'll be all good. Cheers boys to the rest of the season...straight to the top!

I think that us canucks should ease up on the cockiness. We're far off of any "A" team. As for the predators, 6 months won't do it. Maybe for the sharks it did it because they all played organized hockey so to them it was just an adjustment period to mens hockey, oor should i say kindergarten hockey! Predators you have a long way. Mr Wildeboers second goal was my fault, I didn't chase him into the zone. He's a defenseman jumping up into the rush. Sorry defence!
Anyways, it was a easy win, but we still should keep focused. I think we have a tuff 2 next games ahead of us.... Mike Smouter#13

Nice work on the video. You might want to re-think the choice of music though ( bleeped out vulgarities ). After all it is a Christian hockey league you play in .
Have fun , its a great game !

Hey Canucks; Another nice video, good job! May I suggest changing the music as different players have the puck. E.g. Wade-ACDC, Matt-Justin Timberlake, Arie-Piano by Lisa, Chris-Nickelback, Dave-Bon Jovi, Joel-K-Fed (or Britney), etc. Anyways... we'll cya on the ice this weekend.
Oiler #8
PS Ovechkin keep you're head up!

Okay Malkin. Hope you try to pull the Kick Pump and bail again. I'll try to capture in Video so that everyone who visits this website can see how bad you look trying to be a NHL superstar.

nice job coping the oilers idea for a website..truly original..

Boys Boys Boys!! Keep the trash talking for the ice, after all we have to drink beers with each other after. what do you say we bet something on the game? I think the losing team should have to buy the beer after the game and the winning team has to pay for the food?
By Anonymous, at 11/13/2006 5:56 PM
No one is copying the oilers website here freddy the albino. This site is truly the best CRHL site there is. We got highlights via video, stats, beer list, and schedule. I think everyone will admitt that the Canucks are not only better then the Oilers on the Ice, They are also better at creating a sweet website. Go Canucks
By Anonymous, at 11/13/2006 6:49 PM
With a beauty website, 2 coaches, video review of the games, etc. you should be able to beat the Oilers no sweat. I haven't seen a pumpkick on the video replay yet though!
By Anonymous, at 11/13/2006 7:52 PM
how does having a beauty website help us beat the Oilers?!?! Not that we can't - just wondering how the website helps ;-)
By Anonymous, at 11/14/2006 11:55 AM
Since both teams will be going to be at the same bar afterwards, I say some friendly betting would be a great idea. Losing team buys the winning team 3 pitchers?
By Anonymous, at 11/14/2006 2:50 PM
Or you can bet on what team can drink 3 pitchers the fastest.
By Anonymous, at 11/14/2006 4:07 PM
I think there is 1 player on the Canucks that will beat you all at that bet. Lol
By Anonymous, at 11/14/2006 4:32 PM
MY MONEY WOULD BE ON DAVE OR CHRIS
By Anonymous, at 11/14/2006 11:02 PM
naaa... my money is on Lor. I hear she can chug-a-lug with the best of 'em.

Box Scores from last weekend are as follows. Sharks 11, Vipers 2
Oilers 6, Titans 2
Canucks 8, Preds 2.
There is still a good chance for Chris to take the goalie shutout lead.
By Anonymous, at 11/15/2006 8:27 AM
Sharks let the Vipers score two goals. Ha Ha... they suck...

Last night a few of us had a bit of a talk about the lines. There are a few combinations that aren't working well. We need to keep the parity between the lines and at the same time, change it so that it takes advantage of each player's strengths and weaknesses. I realize that this is the coaches decision, but just as a suggestion, how's this for some new lines:
LW / C / RW
Ken/Jack/Mike
Joel/Wade/James
Matt/Dan/Rich
By Jack, at 11/15/2006 8:52 AM
i wouldn't get too worried about making perfect lines after only having the full team out for one game...each line doesn't need to score 4 goals to make it a good line.
but i guess that's why we have coaches...
By Anonymous, at 11/15/2006 9:08 AM
I like those lines jack.....I think one of them is capable of competing in the A. The other ones not so much but who cares

wow, the canucks site is better than the oilers, and your prob a better team too. you guys must really put alot of time and effort into being the best in what you yourselves call a "Kindergarten" league. you must be so proud.
By Anonymous, at 11/15/2006 10:41 PM
Actually, this is a mens league that is being ruined by the fact that they let little boys that have big mouths play. They want to play with the men, then they can start by taking a little. I don't think it's our fault that the little fish want to swim with the big fish.
By Anonymous, at 11/16/2006 10:42 AM
What line is that? The one with me, Jack and Mike? - LOL
By Anonymous, at 11/16/2006 2:20 PM
Where is the heart of playing canadian reformed hockey? You guys shouldn't be complaining about a bunch of highshool kids playing in a mens leauge. Isn't this leauge suppose to be about christian fellowship on and off the ice? Just a thought to consider.
By Anonymous, at 11/16/2006 2:46 PM
I don't know about you but christian fellowship isn't the reason I play hockey. I play because I love hockey and I'm not good enough to play in the NHL so I play in the CRHL instead.

I hope everybody sharpened their skates and taped their sticks for saturday...canucks are going down on saturday. The oilers are turning the tables and are gonna win the b-central...compared to us the sharks and the canucks look like little sissy girls! Good luck saturday, you'll need it!!!
