Recap: 1/13/2006 Canucks vs Sharks

Canucks win! Canucks win! – There was great rejoicing throughout all the land as the Canucks conquered the Sharks in a convincing 4-0 shutout victory. The Canucks finally lived up to all the smack-talk and cockiness by playing a phenomenal game of hockey against the formerly unbeaten Sharks. All who attended the event were absolutely stunned by how talented this Canuck team really is. The whole team gave this game a hundred and eleven percent. The team was embarrassed after our poor outing the week before, and were all fired up and ready to show the Sharks what we are capable of.
From the goalie, to the entire defense core, and all three forward lines, everyone played their best game of the season. Chris made spectacular save after spectacular save as he kept the gates shut for the whole game proving that he is probably one of the top netminders to ever strap on the pads. Our defense also played an exceptional game, stopping the Sharks offensive attempts time after time. After a while it almost looked as though they were scared to even come into our zone. Our forwards also rose to the occasion by stuffing the Sharks net full of pucks. Rich opened the scoring in the second period with a nice wrister: top corner, blocker-side which lifted the entire team to their feet and sparked a fire under the rest of the team. In the third period Kenny decided to take the game into his own hands. He crashed the Shark’s net with reckless abandon, wack after wack, forcing a big juicy rebound to come out onto Jack’s stick, and when that happens - the puck usually ends up in the net. After that in another scrum in front of the net Ken managed to get his stick on a puck sitting on the goal-line to poke it forward into the back of the net securing the victory. Wade also managed to extend his scoring streak by breaking through the Sharks’s defense, and undressing the goalie to throw one upstairs. With four goals, the Canucks shut down the opposition for the rest of the night. When the game ended, the Canucks celebrated as only the Canucks can. The frosty beverages never tasted so sweet…
With less than a week away till the next meeting of these two teams, we can’t wait to do it all over again. Look out Sharks! Go Nucks!

Sweet video this week – Some nice post-game analysis from Ken “Pierre McGuire” Vanderboom too. Check it out:

  • yeah nice win but it only helps that the sharks werent playing like themselves also. you could tell from just watching the game for a couple minutes, and dont say its because you scared them with your talent, because thats the worst excuse. and that part about him being one of the best goalies to strap on the pads, well, that part just made me laugh.

  • well, at least you can laugh...cause you sure can't play hockey

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/15/2007 1:47 PM

  • Chris isn't the best goalie to strap on pads. I've seen him choke before. No one can predict a goalies game. I will admitt, the canucks played a great game, Chris was on his game. the real test will be this weekend. My predictions:

    oilers 8 vipers 1
    Canucks 4 sharks 3
    titans 5 preds 2

    shultz picks of the week

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/15/2007 3:27 PM

  • Face it, we did what no one else could do – beat the Sharks. We knew we could do it and we will do it again next week. Ha ha ha... if Ken can score anyone one our team can!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/15/2007 3:53 PM

  • Many teams should beat the Sharks, they just have not done it... yet.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/15/2007 5:03 PM

  • It was a sweet win the other night thats for sure. After last game I said we didn't play well, so its only fair that this time i say that we played freaken great. We still can play better though. By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/15/2007 7:59 PM

  • whoever this gloating person is, it doesnt make sense because he doesnt even know who sent that one comment, for all we know it could be the best player in the league or someone from the a division watching the game. this gloating guy really must not know what hes talking about, what are you 5?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/15/2007 8:06 PM

  • the sharks weren't playing like themselves...what the heck does that mean???!?! who were they trying to play like? i'd like to know, just so we don't copy them haha

either way, we brought our 'b' game and still won. just wait till we bring our 'A' game

  • FYI: Our website got an all time high of 208 visits yesterday.
Looks like we got either a lot of fans or a lot of enemies...

  • The sharks were not playing their game or "like themselves" because we were playing our game. When one team dominates control of the puck the other can't. So the fact that we were playing our game is mutually exclusive from them playing their game. Sucks to suck.... suckers

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2007 10:52 AM

  • haha...that was good.

jack: update the crhl website, as they gave the win to the sharks

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2007 10:57 AM

  • All those other B-div teams out there love to hate us but they know they were all secretly hoping we would beat the Sharks. After every lost game against the Sharks they would go home and say “sigh... well hopefully the Great Mighty Canucks will beat them. I sure wish I was a Canuck. Being a Canuck sure must be awesome. I wonder what it’s like”.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2007 10:58 AM

  • hey jack, 200 of those visits were ken...watching his goal over and over :)

  • Someone tell Andy Baartman that the Canucks are good and Beat the Sharks 4-0.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2007 3:29 PM

  • you guys need to ease up on the cockiness, you beat the sharks once, they beat you twice, if you win next week the season series is tied, if you loose then i guess they're just better

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2007 4:49 PM

  • We are AWESOME!!!!!!! Sharks are going to loose 2 in a row come friday. Go Canucks

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2007 5:16 PM

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2007 10:49 PM

  • chris you played a great game nice snatches with the glove buddy well good luck on friday the sharks are looking for a win so they can assure there #1 spot for the season!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/17/2007 7:32 PM

  • No one assures #1 until the playoffs are over, and we all know what 4 teams are in. Reg. season doesn't mean that much anymore.
