Recap: 3/23/2007 Oilers vs Canucks

Friday night, the biggest game in the Burlington Canuck’s short history took place as they met for the final match against the Oilers. With the series tied at one game a piece, it was win or go home. The insults and pushing and shoving did not slow down from the previous game, as both teams knew that if they lost, it would be no more hockey until the tournament a month later. The Canucks knew they’d have to give it their all, and that was what they did, as they worked hard to win 5-2 to put away the Oilers and move on to play the Sharks in the B-Central final.
The first half of the game was back and forth hockey, the teams traded goals a few times, and both goalies were playing well. In the second half of the game, the Canucks started taking control and ended up controlling the majority of the play, and in doing so, scored 3 more goals to ensure the victory. Canuck goals were scored by James (2), and Wade (3). Next time, us other Canucks will have to step up and give those two boys some assistance, and maybe put in a few ourselves.
Next up is the big series against the Sharks. Since the beginning of the season, everyone knew we’d see these guys in the finals. With a 1-3 record against them during the season, some CRHL followers may think they’ll be able to win the series, but come on… have you seen how good we are?! We’ve crushed them before, and we’ll do it again.

  • First game is booked.

Saturday March 31st, 7:00pm at the Wave Sports Center. That's the old Wave - not our rink.

I know some of you wanted to play on Friday, but the Sharks could not play that night. I guess we'll be missing Dan then, but hopefully everyone else shows up.

  • Just so you all know. If we win this next series, we'd be invited to a mini-tournament they are planning on having on April 14th to determine the overall winner between the South, Central, and North. It would be a quick round robin, to determine the teams to play in an official championship game to be played right afterwards.

  • Game 2 is booked.

Friday April 6th, 9:30p, at the Wave Twin Center.

Game 3, if necessary will probably be either the next day or on a weeknight the following week so that the winner is decided prior to the April 14th b championship.
