Recap: 4/6/2007 Sharks vs Canucks

Game 2 - B-Central finals, Canucks vs Sharks. We came out strong and played well. We got a quick two-goal lead, but surrendered it just minutes later. In the second period, we once again got up by two goals, but in the third it was not to be, as the Sharks ended up scoring three in a row to win the game 5-4, and took the b-central title.

Congratulations to the Sharks. If you can beat us, you deserve a trophy. Thanks for a great series. We’ll see ya at the tourney – we’ll be out for a little revenge.

We've been telling everyone all year how talented we are but we forgot to mention just how good-looking we all are too. Here's our team picture taken after the game. Missing is John Scholtens and Rich Poort.

Recap: 3/31/2007 Canucks vs Sharks

With Fu Manchu’s evil brother along for the ride, the Canucks walked into the rink and were marched directly to the penalty box where they spent the remainder of the evening watching the few players they had left, fight to end up losing 3-2 to the Sharks. With two games remaining, and anticipation of a 5-on-5 game coming up, the Canucks are not worried. When we weren’t in the box we played well, and with a full team from start to finish, we know we can beat these kids. We can (and will) play much better. We’ve got to play like a team, and score a few more goals. Just two goals are probably not enough against this team. Let’s open the flood gates and start shooting more and crashing the net.
The Sharks did manage to come out strong, peppering Chris with plenty of shots, but Chris and our defense managed to keep the game close only allowing them two goals in the first half. As the Sharks started to slow down in the third, James scored two goals for us to tie the game up. By the way, why do a bunch of overweight smokers and drinkers keep playing better in the third period against a bunch of kids who haven’t yet been polluted by such vices? Just think of how good we’d be if we all still had our 18 year old physiques. Anyways… as the game came to a close the Canucks ended up stuck in a 2-on-1 situation in their own zone and the Sharks got the game-winner to dash the Canucks hopes of a series sweep.
Next up… game two on Good Friday. Let’s get everyone out for this one. You’ve got the whole day to take a nice nap, eat a nice pre-game meal, stretch it out for a bit, and show up to the game early ready to play. It would be kinda nice to win this one…
