Recap: 3/31/2007 Canucks vs Sharks
With Fu Manchu’s evil brother along for the ride, the Canucks walked into the rink and were marched directly to the penalty box where they spent the remainder of the evening watching the few players they had left, fight to end up losing 3-2 to the Sharks. With two games remaining, and anticipation of a 5-on-5 game coming up, the Canucks are not worried. When we weren’t in the box we played well, and with a full team from start to finish, we know we can beat these kids. We can (and will) play much better. We’ve got to play like a team, and score a few more goals. Just two goals are probably not enough against this team. Let’s open the flood gates and start shooting more and crashing the net.
The Sharks did manage to come out strong, peppering Chris with plenty of shots, but Chris and our defense managed to keep the game close only allowing them two goals in the first half. As the Sharks started to slow down in the third, James scored two goals for us to tie the game up. By the way, why do a bunch of overweight smokers and drinkers keep playing better in the third period against a bunch of kids who haven’t yet been polluted by such vices? Just think of how good we’d be if we all still had our 18 year old physiques. Anyways… as the game came to a close the Canucks ended up stuck in a 2-on-1 situation in their own zone and the Sharks got the game-winner to dash the Canucks hopes of a series sweep.
Next up… game two on Good Friday. Let’s get everyone out for this one. You’ve got the whole day to take a nice nap, eat a nice pre-game meal, stretch it out for a bit, and show up to the game early ready to play. It would be kinda nice to win this one…

Wow, no comments? Pretty sad for the first game of the finals guys. I think everyone who seen the game can say it was a good game although we spent most of the time in the penaly box. Less penalties this week guys and i'm sure you can pull off the win.

I agree... lets get out there... play hard and have some fun. These kids are good... but we can beat them if we come out with our 'A' game (as Chris would say). The tourney schedule is up on the web site... what's with the league putting us in the same pool as the sharks? I think we are going to be sick of playing eachother by then.
cheers.

Saturday will be a bit of a bore. The Sharks, whom we've played too many times already, and the Knights - a bunch of kids from Orangeville that nobody knows.
I am looking forward to seeing how we do against the Whalers.

Penaltys were 9 for canucks, 7 for sharks and the Canucks deserved everyone of them. That's pretty even so stop complaining. It's not the refs fault you guys keep losing to the Sharks

Wow, who ever wrote the last coment can really read. I see five previous coments and only one says something about penalties and it has nothing to do with weather we deseved them or not.
Sharks fans must only be able to see one side of the game and have no reading comprehension.

you're right. it's also not our fault that the sharks fall everytime they bounce into us. still we get penalties for that too.
oh well, we've got our cold beer for after the game. make sure you guys bring some warm milk to celebrate your win tonight.

Neither team actually looked that great. A few ugly goals on both end of the rink. Sounds like B hockey to me! Just have fun out there, no need to get all arrogant and cocky over a Christian rec league... both teams that is.
